What?

On March 13, the Student Activist Movement (SAM) of Salem College is hosting a festival of activist art to raise awareness about the devastating situation in the Congo and mobilize support for and solidarity with the people who live there.  We will be using our art--visual, performance, and musical--to spread the news of Congo, raise money, encourage people to petition asking the American Congress to pass I-VAWA (International Violence Against Women Act) and give information on what else we can do to help people in the Congo.  THIS EVENT IS FREE!

Who?

Everyone is welcome!  Come to March 13's BREAKING THE SILENCE, a festival of activist art surrounding the Congo.

When?  Where?

Breaking the Silence will take place on Saturday, 13 March 2010 at Salem College in Winston-Salem, NC from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center (FAC).
